essence - the gel nail polish - prince charming

Hello Beauties!

Today I want to show you one of the new essence - the gel nail polishes, that I recently purcased: prince charming (25).
Prince charming is a greenish turquoise with the most beautiful duachrome pearl shimmer, that shifts from blue to green with a hint of purple.
For todays manicure I used the base and topcoat that come with this new line. The basecoat is fantastic! It is so easy to apply and dries very quickly. Prince charming also has a great formula. The first coat went on a tiny bit streaky, but the second layered that out completely.
The topcoat is also just wonderful. It reminds me a bit of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat wich is my go to topcoat. Within minutes the polish is dry and super glossy.

Natalia from Polished Polyglot did a great rewiew last week of one of the gel nail polishes. Check it out! It encouraged me to paint my nails directly before going to bed. I was finished maybe half an hour before I laid down. The first thing I did in the morning was taking a look at my nails and being happy they weren't smudged or scratched at all.
Around noon I finally got a chance to take pictures in sunlight wich will show you prince charming's real charme! :-D Here you can see the beautiful shimmer, that I instantly fell in love with. Although in nature it is even prettier. The camera doesn't do this polish much justice.

Since there are so many great polishes I still want to try on and swatch for you, I will not do a durability test of prince charming now. If you are interested in that be sure to check out Polished Poliglot! Natalia wrote a very informative post on love is in the air, that covers that topic perfectly.

How do you like prince charming? Is this a colour you would like to wear?

essie - twin sweater set

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and wish you a great start into the new week. Today I want to show you essie - twin sweater set (269).
Twin sweater set is a bright, luscious red creme polish, that dries to a glossy finish. It has a good formula, that is a bit on the thin side but not runny. Application was easy due to the flat brush. I used two coats of this polish for these swatches without a topcoat. It was glossy enough for me!

The pictures above were taken with a flash wich makes the polish appear a bit brighter. But the colour was actually a bit darker like in the pictures below, that were taken in natural light. This totally reminds me of ripe cherries that are ready to be picked and eaten directly from the tree! Yummie...

Twin sweater set is a lovely everyday polish, that I like a lot.

How do you like this essie shade?

Misslyn - Oriental Emerald

Hello Lovelies!

How is your weekend going? Are you enjoying the weather? Today I want to show you something sparkly! This is Misslyn - oriental emerald from their velvet diamonds line. I have been wanting to buy this polish for a while now, but for some reason didn't before. I finally got it and I can tell you I do not regret it! (See the whole haul here.)
Oriental emerald is a sheer turquoise jelly polish packed with lots of different iridescent glitter. Mainly there are small and mini hexes, but there also are some square glitter pieces in, wich make this polish really special. Since it is so sheer and I am not a fan of VNL, I decided to layer it over another polish. I used two coats of ANNY - surf the wave and only one coat of the oriental emerald.

I really love the formula of this polish. With all the glitter in it I expected it to be a bit clumpy, but it went on smooth and even. As you can see in these pictures, if you look closely, It dries to a gritty finish.

But with a good layer of topcoat, it smoothes out and shines even more. I love how it sparkles in sunlight. The bigger square junks reflect the light really well.

To make you see best, I took some blurry shots in sunlight.
To try something else I decided to put on essie - mezmerised on my thumb to see how oriental emerald looks over a darker blue polish. And I think it looks amazing! Even better than on the light blue polish. It reminds me of a summer night sky. I also only used one coat of glitter here. I tried it out with a second layer later on, but that was too much bling and I did not like it anymore.

Sorry for the shadow in this picture. Did not see it, when I took the pics.
Can you tell that I am in love with this polish? Isn't it amazing?

splash stamping on essie - mezmerised

Hello everyone!

And happy Saturday! Today I want to show you a stamped manicure I recently did on essie - mezmerised. This Splash manicure is perfect for spring or summer.

Using an essence stamping plate and a couple of different polishes, I stamped on four to seven dots on each of my nails. This was a bit time consuming, but totally worth it.
I usually take a picture that shows the name of the polishes I've used for a manicure to make things easier when writing a blogpost, but I have to admit, that I totally forgot it this time and that I am too lazy right now to get up and have a second look at all these polishes. But I think it is not that important. You can use any polish you like for this manicure anyway! :-D

These pictures show the manicure immediately after stamping. There are still a few rough edges and the spots don't exactly match and come together very well.

After topcoating it the colours were combined better, there were no more edges. And I think it also helped bringing out the pattern better and on top of that it seals it in and protects the hard work I put into this manicure. So my recommendation is to use a good top coat when you do a stamped mani.
As you can see my stamping skills are still not the best, but for this manicure it was totally okay in my eyes, that some dots did not transfer to the nail completely. I just stamped another colour closely next to it.

I think this is a fun manicure for a day on the beach or by the pool.

How do you like it? Is this a mani you would wear? How are your stamping skills?
