Purple & White Tape Mani

Hello Sweeties!

How are you today? Did you enjoy your weekend? Today I want to show you a quick manicure I did last week when I was wearing p2 - watch me walking. On the second day of wearing it I wanted to spice it up a bit.

So I applied some nail tip guides diagonally across my nails and then covered it with two coats of Wet 'n Wild - French White Creme. Once the second coat was on my nail I immediately removed the tape with some tweezers. To illuminate this manicure and add some sparkle, I applied a layer of china glaze - Fairy Dust before topcoating my manicure.

This manicure reminds me a bit of Zebra stripes. I totally love the look although I am not sure it is perfect for summer. The glittering white parts remind me of snow. So maybe with another base colour this could be a perfect winter mani. I guess with red it could make gorgeous Candy Canes.
What do you think about this manicure? Do you like the taped stripes? Would you rather wear this now or in the colder months?

Dotted Stripes - Retro Mani

Hello Sweeties!

How is your weekend going so far? Today I want to show you another manicure I did with my new p2 polishes that I blogged about yesterday. I didn't really plan ahead with this manicure and just went on until I was satisfied. In the end I totally felt that this manicure has a retro look.

I started this mani with a white base and two coats of start me up, wich I didn't apply until the tip, but mainly to the upper half of my nail. A bit overlapping I added two coats running hot to the tip of my nails. I wasn't really amyzed with the look of that so I added a line of black dots where the two colours met.

Since watch me walking was also standing on my desk begging to be used, I added two coats to the tips of my nails and lined up some white polkadots above.

I finally was satisfied with that result and sealed my manicure in with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
BTW: the black and white polishes I used are both Wet 'n Wild!

I hope you also like my dotted and striped manicure. Do you get a retro vibe too?

July 4th Manicures pt.1

Hello Loves!

As you know I am from Germany, but I still wanted to do something to celebrate the 4th of July with all the Americans out there. The colours are just great and call for some manicures! I was actually planning to post one 4th of July manicure every day from July 1st-4th, but I just couldn't make it those past two days so I will show you two manicures today and two tomorrow. Lets get started with an interpretation of the American Flag.
I started painting my nails red with a blue accent on my indexfinger (essie - mezmerised).
The red I used is Douglas Absolute - Anna (02), a gorgeous, luscious deep red with an amazing formula and wonderful coverage. It was almost opaque in one coat, but for perfect coverage I used a second coat.

Using a dotting tool and some white nail polish with good coverage, I added small dots to my blue nail to represent the stars. With a fine nail art brush I added white stripes across my red nails. And there we have it - a stars and stripes flag manicure.

I then added a bit of china glace - Fairy Dust for some sparkle. The striped nails kind of remind me of candy canes. Imagine the stripes were diagonally...
My freehand nail art skills still lack quite a bit of precision and so the stripes are not as even as they should be, but I still like the outcome.

Have you done any 4th of July manicures or are you planning to do one tomorrow?
