Water Marble - Red - Pink - White

Hello Lovelies!

Today I want to share with you one of my first successful attempts in water marbeling! As I mentioned a few days ago my goal this month is to try out new techniques and master those that outplayed me before. Here is what my manicure looks like:
I truly love the result. It is far from perfect and I didn't always catch the pattern exactly as I intended too, but I think it went pretty well!

For the manicure I used all china glaze polishes:
Strike A Rose - Igniting Love - Surfin' For Boys - Heart Of Africa - White On White

You probably have noticed by now, that I used all red and pink polishes but on my nails it looks like there is a grey polish in play. I really can not explain what happened there. The dark red Heart Of Africa went grey in some spots. Maybe the colour was stretched out too much in the design? Whatever it is, I like the outcome! :-D
To add some details I used my b.pretty nail liners in black and white and added some tiny dots as well as pink and red rhinestones for some sparkle. The red ones are so tiny you hardly can see them in these pictures. Ine is in the center of my pinkie nail and the other in the upper corner on my middle finger where the center of my design ended up.

How do you like this manicure? Have you tried water marbeling yet? Did you get good results?

Animal Print Series - Tiger - Leo - Butterfly on Rainbow

Hello Beauties!

Here I am with the promised second post for my 6 months bloggiversary! I did some different designs on my sponged rainbow from erlier today with Wet 'n Wild - Black Creme and china glaze - White on White.
On my thumb I did a tiger pattern wich turned out to be my favourite. On my pointerfinger I tried a butterfly design wich looks okay, but I guess I could do better. So try, try again! :-D (I will show you how I did this in an extra post.)
On my middlefinger I tried to do a Zebra pattern. I wanted it to look different from the tiger on my thumb and therefore went a bit too much criss cross, wich turned out to look weired and I didn't really like it. So I tried to patch it up with a rhinestone rainbow line down the middle.
On my ringfinger I tried watermarbeling, wich was okay, but I ended up with a bit too much black on my nail. A little white rhinestone gave it more contrast and it was alright again. (I also have some pictures of how I did the water marble, wich I will show you shortly.)
And last but not least my pinkie. Here I did a Leopard print. I really like thisone too!

How do you like my designs? Wich one is your favourite?

Sponged Rainbow Manicure

Hello Lovelies!

Happy Thursday. Today is a holiday in Germany and I am happy to have my best friend visiting from Austria. Really need some girl time! And this day is also special to me, because today is my 6 month blogging anniversary! Wohooo... Time really does fly by!

Since summer is almost here I decided to do a colourful rainbow manicure.
I started off with a basecoat and two coats of china glaze - White On White and then spongend on my rainbow diagonally using these colours:
NYX - Bimbo, Pop Culture and My Sunshine, essie - vice versa and mezmerised and Maybelline Color Show - Purple Gem.
To save me a lot of cleanup I taped my fingers with scotch tape before I started stamping. I think it is totally worth the effort, but you have to decide that for yourself.

Doesn't this look cute instantly? The colours worked so well together. I repeated the process about two to three times on every nail until I had good coverage and a soft gradient between colours.
As you can see there is not a huge mess around my nails after I removed the tape. Finishing it off with a topcoat made the colours come together and pop even more.

In daylight and direct sunlight the colours look so bright! I love it! :-D

You probably can tell, that this manicure turned out pefectly in my opinion. Just what I had hoped for if not a bit more!

How do you like my rainbow? Do you like sponging?

Since today is my half year bloggiversary I wanted to go the extra mile and do some designs on this rainbow, but this post is already quite long so I will split that up and have another post coming your way during the day! ;-D Stay tuned.

Maybelline - Color Show - Mauve Kiss

Hello Everyone!

Today I want to show you this Maybelline Color Show polish by the name Mauve Kiss (150).
Mauve Kiss is a light brown creme polish with an excellent formula. It is almost opaque in one coat, but I still used two for these swatches without any base or top coat. Judging by the name I expected the polish to have a hint of lilac to it but that is absolutely not the case.

This lovely nude polish is ideal to wear year round especially with nailart ontop of it.

I think it looks good with my skintone so I will definitely use it again!

How do you like this polish? Do you wear colours like this on their own or do you prefer them with a bit of nailart?

Animal Print Series - Tiger

Hello Beauties!

My goal for June is to try out a couple of new manicue techniques or to make a decent manicure out of some I have already tried and failed miserably... :-D So let me introduce you to my new Animal Print Series starting with a Tiger pattern.
This manicure is actually quite simple. You could just do it ontop of a monochrome orange background, but I decided to make it look more like a tiger skin by adding some different colours.
I started off with some Maybelline base coat and two layers of china glaze - White On White. Using a tiny piece of make -up sponge and some tweezers I dabbed on yellow, orange, two types of brown and a little white. With a fine nailart pencil I added black tiger stripes.

The polishes I used for this mani are Wet 'n Wild - Black Creme, NYX - My Sunshine, Pop Culture and Deep Brown as well as OPI - Get In The Expresso Lane and china glaze - White On White. I Also sealed it in with a generous layer of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
I didn't quite like how the pattern looked on my thumb so I thought I could make a Tiger face out of it, but that didn't turn out so well either. He looks kind of cross-eyed and just weired. I think the green rhinestones I used were too big.
Aside from my thumb I am very happy with this manicure and like the way it turned out.

What do you think? Would you like to see more animal prints on the blog? Let me know!

Miss Sporty - Oh My Gem! - 004

Hello Everyone!

Today I want to join the Monday Blues and wear a blue polish. It finally is getting warmer and the sun is coming out and I am struggeling with a soar throat and earache. I really would love to go out and enjoy the sun... But she will still be there in a few days, right! (Hopefully.) So now you know why I am feeling blue. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and and can't wait to start this new month!
Todays post is about a polish I bought in Prague about two months ago. This is Miss Sporty - 004 from the Oh My Gem! collection. A sapphire glitter polish with a blue jelly base packed with dark blue microglitter flakies and small hexes in silver and a lighter blue.

The formula is good, but very opaque so I decided to layer this one over a bight blue creme polish namely essence - brit-tea - Have A Beau-Tea-Full Day. I only used one one coat of glitter on top of two layers of the creme polish. The glitter density is quite good. On my thumb I added a second coat of glitter polish just to show you the difference. In my opinion this is too much bling. In this case less is more. (I am not quite sure if this is a common english expression or if I just translated that from German and you really don't usually say that, but it sounds right to me and I think you'll get my point! :-D)
I tried to catch the sparkle that is clearly visible in the bottle on my nails, but it really didn't work well. I even included some blurry shots, wich didn't help either. It was a bit better in real life, but all in all this polish didn't really blow my mind. I might give it another try and layer it over a darker background or try to build it up to opacity on it's own. Because in the bottle it looks very pretty and I would love to see that on my nails.

Have you ever tried this brand? It wasn't familiar to me before I discovered it in a drugstore in the Czech Republic.
