Apricot Gradient & Desert Stamping

Hello Sweeties!

How are you today? I am sitting at my desk right now, looking outside at the beautiful trees that are changing their colour, a blue sky with some little white clouds and listening to the birds singing their songs. My cup of tea smells fantastic and I am happy to be typing again. So here is todays post. The apricot colours I used are lovely for spring and summer, but I also think they are gorgeous for a sunny autumn day like today.
I painted my nails with one coat of Rival de Loop - pastel look and then sponged on a gradient using pastel look (02) and sunny look (03). Without a topcoat it looks a bit gritty, but after I layered over some Fairy Dust from china glaze I really liked the result a lot.

The top coat always helps bringing together the colours and blends them to a wonderful gradient. The pastel apricot and the peachy shade look lovely as a gradient, don't you think?
I then decided to use my Born Pretty Store stamping plate BP-31 to do a little stamping on my nails, but first I created two accent nails, that reminded me of sand and totally underlined the egyptian theme I was planning to do. I removed the polish from my middle and index finger, applied a white base and used the golden/apricot holo polish #6 from my BPS Holographics Set.
To get the colourful design I used multiple stamping polishes that I all bought from Born Pretty Store recently. (Check out the full haul.) For the palm trees I mixed together some black, green and a bit of yellow as well as a metallic green stamping polish. My camel is yellow with some white and the pyramides are black with a touch of yellow, wich looks like there is sand sprinkled all over them.
I am super happy with my manicure. Only my middle finger is a disappointment. I waited quite some time before stamping and still the polish got smudged horribly. I still wanted to share it with you, because I think the colourful design is very cute and I wanted you to see the beautiful motives from the BP-31 plate I haven't used before. I actually bought this plate for the full nail designs in the middle, but as it turns out the otheres are wonderful too!
And here is one last look at my thumb nail. Here you can see the metallic green stamping polish I used. It looks a bit blue in this picture, but it's not. It actually has a lovely golden shimmer. When you remove the polish and swipe over with a cotton ball, the green colour vanishes first and leaves the golden paticles behind and you can still see your design. I will show you this stamping polish in a separate post. It is totally worthy of that!
How do you like my egyptian stamping design?

claire's - Runway & flormar - Atomic Bomb

Hello Beauties!

I am still feeling a bit under the weather and find it hard to concentrate, but hopefully this will be another blogpost you can enjoy reading. Today I want to show you claire's - Runway, from my Berlin Shopping Spree. There are so many gorgeous polishes there. I still find it hard to choose wich one to swatch next...
Runway is a dark purple creme polish with a blueish, pearly shimmer and a slightly metallic finish. My camera always has trouble catching dark purple colours right so unfortunately in the pictures the polish looks a bit more blue and less purple than it actually is.
The formula of Runway is pretty good. It applied smoothly and spread evenly. For full opacity it required two thin coats. I did also use a topcoat for these swatches.

Even though I really like the colour I felt the need to add some extra sparkles and applied a layer of flormar Genius Glitter - Atomic Bomb (GG06) to my middle- and ringfinger.
Atomic Bomb is an amazing glitter polish. It is packed with tiny round and some small hexagonal iridescent silver glitter pieces and also contains some square glitter that instantly catches your attention. If you are looking for a lovely glitter for a special occasion I would definitely recommend this one. I love it!
And look how dense it is with only one coat! No extra dabbing needed.
If you love a good glitter polish try getting your hands on to this beauty. You won't regret it!

How do you like todays manicure? Are you a fan of glitter accent nails?

Manhattan Lotus Effect - 96G & Nail Art Stickers French

Hello Lovelies!

Happy Saturday! Since my SD slot is still not working I am showing you another older manicure today. I am not that happy with the result, but I really like the idea in general so here we go. I used some Nail Art stickers to create the final look, but first let me show you the polish on its own.

This is Manhattan Lotus Effect - 96G. I don't like polishes without names, but what can I do? :-) 96G is a pearly champagne creme polish with a hint of gold and a metallic finish. It applied smoothly and without too many visible brushstrokes, but took a while to dry. The formula is good and almost opaque with two coats depending on the light.
Since I was planning on applying some stickers that was good enough.

Here are the stickers I've used for this manicure. They are from a brand called Medis Sun Glow and I bought them about a year ago via Amazon. This was before I started my blog and I just dicsovered my love for nail art. I thought this was an easy way to get some glamour on.
And it is true, but I still like stamping more! You can play around with colour and different motives. For beginneres these stickers are highly recommendable.
I do like the design I used, but I was too imprecise in the execution. I dislike my Pointerfinger, the others are okay. The lace pattern is pretty cute.

How do you like this manicure? Do you use nail art stickers for your manicures?

Ruby Kisses - Silver Bling

Hello Beauties!

Today I want to show you Silver Bling from Ruby Kisses that I bought a while back in this huge haul. I have used it before in one of my July 4th manicures, but since it is such a gorgeous polish I thought it deserved a blogpost all on its own.
Silver Bling (RNP 112) is a silver metallic polish with a liquid foil finish. It is actually quite hard to take decent pictures of it. When you get too far away it easily blurres and when you're too close it almost looks like a mirror when the flash reflects.
The formula of this polish is fantastic. It applies smoothly and is almost opaque in one single coat even though I usually apply very thin layers. To get that foil like finish I applied two coats. Silver Bling dries very fast and has an even texture even though it looks like it is a bit gritty.
In my opinion Silver Bling is the perfect name for this wonderful polish. I could not describe it any better. If you are looking for a go to silver polish this should be it!

s-he stylezone - 296 & Flower Accent With 030 & 181

Hello Lovelies!

Today I want to show you the first polish from my shopping trip in Salzburg. This is s-he stylezone 296. I was so sunken into polishing my nails, that I totally forgot to swatch it before I painted the accents, but I guess you can still see enough of this Beauty even with the flowers on!
I picked this polish up because I really liked the way it looks in the bottle. You can see that it is a dark grey with a lot of shimmer. Often this shimmer doesn't show on the nails no matter how intense it is in the bottle, but not with this baby. With the first coat I was a bit worried that might happen, but as soon as I added the second one I was satisfied with my choice!

Comparing the pictures above wich were taken indoors with a flash and the ones below (outdoors mostly direct sunlight) I have to say that the shimmer - or is it microglitter (I can often not tell these apart...) - shows best in flashlight. In real life I found it sparklier outdoors. I mean I usually don't have a flash pointed at my nails all day long...
Isn't this a pretty anthracite polish? I do like dark nailpolish a lot, but I sometimes have the problem that the contrast to my skin is too much and end up not liking/wearing them, but this one I do like a lot!

For the flower accents on my thumb and ringfinger I found inspiration in the garden and it so happened that one (or two) of my new polishes made a perfect match. I used s-he stylezone - 030 and a dotting tool to create the flowers and added a dot of 181 to the center.

Here is one last bottle shot (030) taken indoors with a flash. This metallic antique pink reflects so much light it is hard to see the colour of this rosy polish.
As you can probably tell I am very pleased with my picks.

I hope you like them too! Are you a fan of dark nail polish, or do you prefer the pastels and neutrals? Or are you like me and love a bit of everything depending on your current mood?

Stamping on Ruby Kisses - Twinkling Mauve

Hello Beauties!

Oh my, where did that day go... Time went by so quickly. So here is an evening post for you today and I want to do a quick one, since it is pretty late.
Using my Nailfun stamping polish in black I did a little flower design on Ruby Kisses - Twinkling Mauve.

Since Twinkling Mauve is pretty shiny and metallic it is pretty hard to see the whole design on the pictures very well si I decided to show it to you also on my plain nail. I used the Konad stampingplate m82. This flower and butterfly design is on the bottom of the plate.

To add a bit more colour I placed one dot of essence brit-tea - Green Tea For Two into the center of each flower.
I am pretty happy with the way this manicure turned out. I still have to work a bit on my aim to make it a bit more even on all my nails, but I really think it looks cute. Especially the little butterfly.

What do you think about this manicure? Do you like my stamped flowers?
