Oh My Gosh - Purple Rain & Silver Stamping #14

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Hello Beauties! Since today is the day I wanted to do something special. So I ordered my first stamping plate and all the other stuff you need to show you a stamped design.
I started my manicure with a basecoat from Maybelline, like I usually do when I'm using dark colours. I then used three coats of OH MY GOSH - Purple Rain. Two would have been good too, but there was still a bit of VNL and I wanted to try it with three. If you look closely you can still see that nail line in some pictures so if you can not live with that I would recommend layering it over another polish! I finished this off with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Purple Rain is a sheer creme polish with a good formula. Applying the polish was no problem, but the brush was not my favourite, so I made a bit of a mess on the side of my nails, that was easily removed with an orange stick. The colour could best be described as a deep purple with blue, red and silver shimmer. Whereat the blue is predominant in this polish.

Using KONAD stamping plate m82 and a silver stamping polish, I applied a flower design to my ringfinger.

This worked pretty well on my left hand. On the other hand I had a bit of a problem and so the design was not complete, but it still looks nice. To seal my design in I applied another Layer of Seche Vite to my ringfingers.
Right hand. See that there are a few petals missing near the cuticle?

I am very happy with the result of my first stamping attempt and also I love this purple polish.

What do you think of this manicure? Do you use stamping?

p2 - go crazy! & Heart Jelly Sandwich Valentines Day Manicure #13

Hello Lovelies!

Happy Friday! Today I want to show you #13 of my Valentines Day Mani ideas.
For this manicure I used p2 Lost In Glitter - go crazy! on all my fingers except for the ringfinger. This glitterpolish has a bright pink jelly base that's packed with different sized pink, purple and silver glitter. I used a base coat, two layers of go crazy! and a top coat for this manicure. Application of go crazy! was very easy. It was opaque in two coats and dried quite fast.
For my accent nail I started off with a white base using one coat of china glaze - White On White. Then I applied one coat of the tinted OPI topcoat - Be Magentale With Me and added some red and blue hearts. Once that was dry I applied another layer of the sheer pink and put on some more hearts. Finally I used a third layer of Be Magentale With Me and topped it off with Seche Vite.

Unfortunatelly the pink polish started bubbling so I guess it was not dry enough. But nevertheless I am happy with this manicure! I like the way the glitter hearts shine through the pink. The blue is no longer blue, and the red is not that bright. It fits! They seem to float in the polish.
How do you like this manicure? Is this something you would like to wear?

b.pretty - the big chrome theory & Fimo Flowers Valentines Day Mani #12

Hello everybody!

For todays Valentines Day Manicure I used b.pretty - the big chrome theory from my Christmas Shopping Haul.
The big chrome theory is a lilac chrome nailpolish with a satin-matte finish. The application was easy and the polish was fully opaque in two coats. I did not use a base or topcoat for the swatches below.

There are a few visible brushstrokes, but they don't run as deep as they often do with metallic polishes. I think it is okay and I did not want to ruin this gorgeous finish by applying a topcoat.
As an accent I applied three fimo flowers to my ringfinger. For this I had to use a topcoat, to make them stick. I should probably have waited longer with doing this, because the colour started wrinkling around the flowers. And as you can see the topcoat I used for fixation changed the finish of the big chrome theory to a metallic finish, wich I am not that fond of.

I like this polish a lot. The colour is gorgeous and quite similar to essence - pink&proud only with a different finish.

How do you like the fimo flowers? Are you a fan of metallic or do you prefer the satin finish?

Maybelline - Ruffian Manicure for Valentines Day #11

Hello Everyone!

For todays Valentines Day Manicure I want to show you my first ever attempt on a ruffian manicure!
I started my manicure with a Maybelline base coat and two coats of Mauve Diamonds, wich is a lovely mauve creme polish with a pearl shimmer finishfrom the Maybelline Express Finish Line. I applied this in a hurry and it took me only about 10 minutes to paint my nails (including base and top coat). Hence the mediocre result.

As a base for a ruffian manicure it was alright though. I decided to put on Maybellines Violet Village as my second colour to create this freehand ruffian manicure.
Violet Village is a blueish purple creme polish with a soft shimmer. Application was easy and the brush was perfect for doing this design. It looked round, but fanned out to a flat brush on the nail. One coat would have been enough for opayity, but I decided to do a second one to get a clearer edge.

As a finish I added a baby pink rhinestone to the tip of my ringfinger and a lilac one to the base.
The next thay I went a little nuts and did a - let me call it - double-ruffian manicure. :-)
Using p2 - go crazy! I added another partly layer of polish. I don't think that I would wear this for a longer time. I mean it looks kind of funny, but it's not quite for me.

Well, I was pretty happy with the result of my first ruffian manicure. I like how the two colours look together. The double-ruffian was an experiment and did not really wow me.

What do you think?
