Purple Gradient with Pansies

Hello Lovelies!

After showing you the polishes I bought on my first day in Berlin earlier today, I now want to show you a manicure I did using a couple of them.
I started my mani by applying a base coat and then added two layeres of catrice - LE Travel De Luxe - Isle of White (C01). While that was drying I applied liquid latex around my cuticles that I recently bought from Born Pretty Store.
Once everything was dry I applied a purple gradient to my nails using a make-up sponge and then stamped some black pansies on. I actually was planning to only do an accent nail, but as you can see I ended up stamping a few flowers to all my nails.
I then picked out some glitter hexes from a silver polish (I don't know wich polish I used. I just grabbed one from my table...) and added them to the center of each flower. To bring everything together I added Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat and sealed in my design. For clean-up I simply had to remove the latex with some tweezers and clean the edges with a flat brush and some acetone.

Here is what I used to create this manicure:
  • Black stamping polish
  • Yves Rocher - Iris (34)
  • Catrice: It's Time For A Lovender (64) - CadiLILAC (71) - Isle of White (LE)
  • Stamping Plate DER-31 plus a stamper & scraper
  • Glitter nailpolish and a toothpick
  • Base & Top Coat
  • Liquid Latex, flat blush and nailpolish remover

I am totally in love with this manicure! I love how the colours look together and am happy with my stamping. The gradient even reminds me a bit of a french manicure with the white tips.
And it does fit perfectly with our balkony flowers! I would wear this for a summer day anytime as well as for a girls night out. The few sparkles add a little elegance, don't you think?
How do you like this flowery manicure? Do you like pansies?

Midnight Gradient

Hello Sweeties!

I bet you remember this weeks Monday Blues post on Maybelline - Violet Village. I wanted to add something sparkly and make it suitable for a Girls Night Out. I decided to make a Midnight gradient to wear on a Friday Night.
To do so I used another Maybelline Forever Strong polish and sponged it onto the tips of my nails. Also the name was very fitting for the manicure I had in mind. I used Midnight Blue for the gradient wich was actually in my very first blogpost ever.
Once everything was dry I added a layer of china glaze - Fairy Dust to create a starry sky before sealing it in with Seche Vite. For a momant I was thinking about adding another glitter with some bigger hexes to make some brighter stars, but I actually was already satisfied with the way this manicure looked.

Same as in my post about Violet Village I had trouble catching all the beauty of this manicure on camera. There was too much gloss, shimmer and sparkle to proberly show everything, but I guess you get the picture anyway.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you like this manicure and are prepared for a fun friday night.

Maybelline Forever Strong - Violet Village

Hello Loves!

How was your weekend? I was busy packing for my vacation and we drove to out first stop yesterday Morning. This means I am currently in Berlin and that this is a scheduled post. I'm usually not big on the Monday Blues, but this polish is so pretty that I couldn't resist sharing it early this week and thought why not participate!
This is Maybelline Forever Strong - Violet Village (645). It is a bluish lavender creme polish with an amazing lilac shimmer. It reminds me of a summer in Provence (South France) whith all the beautifully blooming lavender fields. I bet whoever made this polish had that in mind!
Found on Google.
The formula is excellent and applies smoothly. It required absolutely no clean-up and was perfectly opaque in two coats. The drying time on this polish was good too. Once I was done with all my fingers the first one was dry enough for the second layer. No waiting time at all.
I love how shiny and shimmery it is all by itself, but to protect this beautiful colour I added Seche Vite before I took the outdoor pictures below. This makes each and every manicure super glossy. Unfortunately in this case it caused that the shimmer didn't photograph anymore. I tried avery possible angle, but my camera was overwhelmed by the glossy shine and was unable to capture the soft shimmer underneath. My bad. In real life it was still there though!
I didn't have any direct sunlight the day I took these pictures. Maybe it would have helped with the pictures.

I still am amazed with this lovely colour. I can almost smell the sun on my skin walking through a flourishing lavender garden in a small french village. A Violet Village! :-)

Do you own any polishes that give you a holiday sensation or flashback? I hope you like this polish as much as I do!

ANNY - diva

Hello Beauties!

Today I want to show you a great spring polish. This is ANNY - diva (220) from my Easter Haul.
Diva is a lilac creme polish with a wonderful formula. It is so easy to apply and will not give you any trouble at all. I applied two thin layers for full opacity wich dried quickly. The polish is quite glossy on its own, but in these pictures you see it with Seche Vite topcoat.

What I love about this polish is that it looks a bit different in each light. Sometimes it is leaning towards blue, sometimes it is brownish or on the purple side. For a monochrome polish the variety is pretty awesome.
I think it is the perfect colour for late spring. Looking outside of my window right now, I see so many similar colours in our garden. Blooming flowers, trees and bushes don't lie, do they? :-)

Here are some impressions from the garden, that totally fit this wonderful polish:

I really love this gorgeous colour! How do you like this polish? Is diva a colour for you?

essence - Cinderella Limited Edition - The Glass Slipper

Hello again everybody!

After posting swatches of the creme polishes from the Cinderella Limited Edition by essence here, I want to show you the last one of this collection. It is The Glass Slipper. A silver glitter topper containing very small and medium seized hexagonal silver glitters in a shimmering jelly base, that shifts from a lavender pink to a golden yellow.
First you can see The Glass Slipper on it's own. In three coats it is almost opaque.

Mainly the polish looks silver, but there is a hint of pink and yellow visible from certain angles. When the sunlight shines on it you can see this better. Unfortunately there was none, when I was taking the pictures.

I then layered it over all the other polishes from this collection. I used one coat of The Glass Slipper for all these combinations. First up is Sing Sweet Nightingale, a velvet matte baby pink.
Here the gold yellow shimmer stands out quite a lot. This combination is not my favourite.

Next it is layered over the second velvet matte polish Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo. As I said in the previous post, this polish is actually lilac, but appears to be blueish through my camera.
If you look closely you can see both, the yellow and the pink shimmer depending on the angle. I like this combination a lot.

The combination of The Glass Slipper and Watch Out Lady Tremaine! is also very pretty.

You can't see much of the shimmer since the gold underneath is already pretty shiny.
Last up is my favourite combination. Prince Charming and The Glass Slipper go so well together.
But I think this is more os a wintertime manicure. It totally reminfs me of snow and ice.

I also took a shot of only one coat of The Glass Slipper on my bare nails just to show you the glitter density better. (excuse my stained nails, please! I was wearing one of these two week gel polishes a while back and it totally discoloured my nails. It has already grown out almost half way. Yay!)
This is one coat of The Glass Slipper on it's own.
In my opinion this glitter topper is very pretty and will go well with any polish. I just didn't like it that much with the velvet matte pink.

How do you like The Glass Slipper? Have you tried one of the polishes from the Cinderella Limited Edition?
