flormar Genius Glitter - Roll the Wheel

Hello Everyone!

This afternoon I am going to show you another flormar polish from my recent Shopping Spree. This is Roll The Wheel (GG03) from their Genius Glitter line.
Alice from Nail Art in Wonderland told me that she had some experience with flormar polishes since it is a turkish brand and she lives and blogs from Turkey. Alice mentioned that the glitter polishes are a real pain in the a** when it comes to removal and boy was she right! It took me forever to get that glitter off and even though I washed my hands multiple times there was still glitter around my cuticles for at least a day. Stubborn little things...
Anyway leths talk about the polish itself. It was super easy to apply and had a lovely formula. With two coats it was opaque, but it has a sand finish. I am not really a fan of textured polishes so I applied two layers of topcoat to try and even that out. You still could feel the gritty texture, but it was okay for me to wear it.
Especially because I do like the colour a lot. Roll the Wheel has a mintgreen base packed with silver and turquoise mini hexes. It is quite shimmery and sparkly. I love it!

To add some details I used my stamper and made some rose decals, that I filled in with different reds and a few pearly accents as well as green for the leaves. Once they were dry I placed them on my thumb and ringfinger and sealed them in. Now with three coats of top coat my nails finally were even, but I still didn't do it for my other nails.

I think these accents are super cute and I already painted a few more roses to use when I need to spice up a simple manicure in no time. I keep them stored in plastic foil so they won't dry out completely and break.

How do you like this glitter polish? Do you like my little rose accents?

Saran Wrap

Hello Loves!

Today I want to show you a Saran Wrap manicure. This is actually my first attempt and I wanted to try out different techniques. Lets get started!
I used the manicure I had on yesterday and had two completely dry coats of 2k beauty Mauve on all my nails except the ringfinger. To my pinkie and middlefinger I added a generous layer of OPI - Schnapps Out Of It! and immediately dabbed on it with a wrinkled piece of plastic bag to take off some of the second colour.
On my thumb and indexfinger I used a different technique. I poured a bit of polish out and dabbed the plastic ball in. I then dabbed it on plastic a few times until there was only a little polish left before I added the secondary colour to my nails.
Can you see the difference? On my pointer the Mauve colour is way more present then on the middlefinger. It looks more like a marble stone.
I covered my ringfinger with two layers of Schnapps Out Of It! and let that dry well. Using the second saran wrap technique I addeed Misslyn - lilac poison to this nail.
As a final touch and for some sparkle I dabbed on a little bit of lilac poison to my other nails befor I added topcoat to smooth everything out.
The original saran wrap technique is to remove the secondary polish from your nails, but I like the other one better. You have more control of how much polish you will add and you can use more colours if you wish. So I will definitely be giving this another try, because this combo didn't really sweep me off my feet.
Maybe it will also work better with a more rigid plastic than the bag. I will use a cellophane foil next time.

How do you like it? Have you ever done a Saran Wrap?

Cartice - Stardust & s-he stylezone - 280

Hello Beauties!

Today I want to show you a manicure I did a while ago with polishes I bought in my Christmas Haul. It was sitting in my draft folder, waiting to be published. Judging by the pictures you can see that I did this a while back. I did not use all my usual camera angles and backgrounds, but I like the combination and want to show it to you anyway.

For this manicure I used Catrice - Crushed Crystals - Stardust, a black and silver glitter polish with extremely high glitter density in a black jelly base. It is opaque in two coats. As an accent I used s-he stylezone - 280 on my ringfinger. 280 has a clear jelly base packed with blue flakies. I applied three coats to get good coverage of the nail line. But it still is not fully opaque.

And I love these polishes in sunlight. It is sparkly all over! Due to the glitter these polishes are textured, so I would recommend using a generous layer of topcoat on both of them for two reasons. First the glitter sparkles more arter topcoating it and second you will not be tempted to rub your nails all the time to feel the texture and start pulling on the slightest edge. (Or is that just me?) :-D
I had to include a blurry shot to show you how shiny these two are:
Stardust is such a gorgeous and elegant polish. I would wear it for a night out or a festive occasion. it definitely accentuates the little black dress!

Are you a fan of textured polish? How do you like my combo?

Misslyn - Oriental Emerald

Hello Lovelies!

How is your weekend going? Are you enjoying the weather? Today I want to show you something sparkly! This is Misslyn - oriental emerald from their velvet diamonds line. I have been wanting to buy this polish for a while now, but for some reason didn't before. I finally got it and I can tell you I do not regret it! (See the whole haul here.)
Oriental emerald is a sheer turquoise jelly polish packed with lots of different iridescent glitter. Mainly there are small and mini hexes, but there also are some square glitter pieces in, wich make this polish really special. Since it is so sheer and I am not a fan of VNL, I decided to layer it over another polish. I used two coats of ANNY - surf the wave and only one coat of the oriental emerald.

I really love the formula of this polish. With all the glitter in it I expected it to be a bit clumpy, but it went on smooth and even. As you can see in these pictures, if you look closely, It dries to a gritty finish.

But with a good layer of topcoat, it smoothes out and shines even more. I love how it sparkles in sunlight. The bigger square junks reflect the light really well.

To make you see best, I took some blurry shots in sunlight.
To try something else I decided to put on essie - mezmerised on my thumb to see how oriental emerald looks over a darker blue polish. And I think it looks amazing! Even better than on the light blue polish. It reminds me of a summer night sky. I also only used one coat of glitter here. I tried it out with a second layer later on, but that was too much bling and I did not like it anymore.

Sorry for the shadow in this picture. Did not see it, when I took the pics.
Can you tell that I am in love with this polish? Isn't it amazing?

Fimo Sticks - Flowers & Butterflies

Hello Everyone!

A few weeks ago I showed you a manicure using Astor - Caribbean Sea. The same day I received an order of Fimo Sticks and decided to add a spring theme to my nails. Today I want to show you my creation.

But let's start at the beginning! I have never used Fimo Sticks before and thought they looked so cute in manicures so I was pretty excited to try them. I ordered a pack of 100 Sticks and I really love the variety of different shapes and sizes. To show you I picked out a few flowers, butterflies and fruits.
Cutting them is harder than it looks like. It took me a while to get thin, straight slices that I could use on my nails. But I think that the half ones are okay too. Only the thicker ones had to go to waste.

Using flowers and butterflies I created a secret garden on my nails. The glitter I've used with my colour made the figures stand out even better. With a good layer of Seche Vite I sealed it all in.

These little butterflies just could not resist to check out my beautiful red rose... :-D

It was really fun creating a look like this and I am looking forward to use the fruit sticks. I bet the'll make for a lovely manicure.

Have you worked with Fimo Sticks before? How do you like my spring look?
