Cartice - Hyde in the park

Hello Beauties!

It finally is St. Patricks Day and the last day of green week and my competition. You can still enter until tonight! I'd like to show you a dark green polish today.

This is Catrice - Hyde in the Park from their Check & Tweed Limited Edition. It is a dark green polish with a soft shimmer. The formula is good and easy to apply. With two coats it is fully opaque.

As an accent I added a coat of essence - circus confetti.
Sorry for the very short and mostly unformated post. My internet connection at home is currently down and I had to use my phone to type this in...

I wish you all a wonderful St. Patricks Day!

s-he stylezone - 310 & essence - party in a bottle

Hello Beauties!

Green week is almost over and I am so happy about the beautiful entries from my lovely guest bloggers for my St. Patricks Day competition! There is still a bit time left for you to enter! (INFO)
Today I want to show you a manicure I'd like to call an ombre glitter gradient:

But first let me show you the pastel green I used as a base for this manicure. This is three coats of s-he stylezone - 310. This polish has a good formula and is quite easy to apply. You only have to give the layers enough time to dry to avoid balding. I was to quick with my second layer and smudged it a little bit, so I had to apply a third layer to cover that up. Otherwise it would have been opaque in two coats.

And the colour is really pretty too. This pastel green has a wonderful shimmer that you can best see in the bottleshot below. The flash brought that out even better than sunlight. At least in the pictures. In nature the shimmer is visible in any lighting.

I then used essence - party in a bottle to create my ombre glitter gradient. On my thumb I only used a very thin coat of party in a bottle and added a little more glitter to each following nail. On my pinkie I used two coats plus some additional dabbing to cover the whole nail.
Party in a bottle is a teal glitter polish packed with small and very small hexagonal sparkling pieces of glitter. It has a very high glitter density.

I really am quite happy with how this turned out. I don't know how to describe this manicure other than an ombre glitter gradient. Is there another name for this kind of manicure? Let me know! :-D

How do you like thisone? Have you enjoyed my green week so far? Still one more day to go!

Manhattan - Bloggers Choice - Green & Bronx

Hello Lovelies!

Todays polish for green week is Manhattan - Green & Bronx from the Bloggers Choice Line, that I purchased a few weeks ago.
When I first spotted the bottle, I was not very intrigued to buy it. But being a new nail polish blogger, I had to get it since it was Bloggers Choice...
Green & Bronx is an olive creme polish jam-packed with tiny red and golden round glitter. The formula of this polish is excellent. Application is very easy and the polish is almost opaque in one coat. For these swatches I applied two layers.

In direct sunlight the polish appears a bit darker and you can see how glossy it is even without any topcoat.

I was a bit disappointed that the glitter didn't shine through as much as I was hoping. The polish is too opaque to let the glitter stand out more.
To add a bit sparkle, I applied a rhinestone flower using five white ones and a light green one for the center.

I still am not quite sure if I like this polish, or not. There are so many gorgeous shades of green out there, but I don't think this is one of them (for me at least!).

What do you guys think? Do you like Green & Bronx?

NYX - Pure Green with flower accent

Welcome back to green week!

Today on the blog is a green manicure with a little sunflower accent.

indoors with a flash
Let's start with todays green polish: NYX - Pure Green. A vernal grass-green creme polish, that reminds me of freshly pressed wheatgrass juice.
The formula is excellent, but the polish is very sheer. I applied three layers plus a half one only at the tips of my nails to cover the nail line, for good coverage.

In direct sunlight Pure Green has a touch of yellow to it.

As an accent I added a little sunflower to my ringfinger. First I made white dots and added yellow to them. To the center I added a black rhinestone and finished it all of with a layer of Seche Vite.

Isn't this a lovely combination?
